Hello friends! I am planning to bow out gracefully from Facebook and Instagram and my blog next year, to focus on connections IRL and have the chance to make mistakes and explore without broadcasting it constantly (I just can't resist it so complete cold turkey seems to be the best option). I have loved sharing life on Instagram in many ways and got great benefit and widened horizons from following people outside my echo chamber, but the disadvantages have come to outweigh the advantages. Being in a beautiful place and thinking 'this would look nice as a square insta post'. Scrolling incessantly when I need to escape the present moment in an anxious fug. And yr speeding of my brain and the decreaed attention span I have for long reads. Yesterday we planted the fruit trees and it was the best thing in the world. In this fairly average small (by town size, not London) garden we have: cherry, plum, blackcurrant, redcurrant, gooseberry, two apples, damson, fig, a grapevine and only a blooming APRICOT. The trees and gooseberry will be fan trained along the fences, except the existing damson which might come out if it's not tasty and be replaced with a pear. Wall training means they take up next to no garden space. This could be so common. It is how it used to be. It's how it might be again #fruit #permaculture #gardening #fanatic
